Denison Bioreserve
The Denison University Biological Reserve is a 350 acre site used for student education and research. Hiking trails are open to the public and are suitable for walking, running and mountain biking. Infirmary Mound Park
Named for the prehistoric "Infirmary Mound" located on the grounds, the 326 acre park is located on SR37 south of Granville. The park is home to Licking County Park District Headquarters. The trails in the park are shared with horseback riders (weather permitting). While the paths are mostly flat, there are some hills to challenge hikers and runners. The park hosts the Pink Strides 5K Trail Run and Walk. A pond, grassed and wooded trails, picnic areas, playgrounds, dog park, a prehistoric mound, and a wetland can all be found on site. Lobdell Reserve
The Lobdell Reserve is a 204 acre wooded reserve along Lobdell Run Creek. This Licking Park District property provides 8 miles of hiking, mountain biking and horse riding trails. The Reserve is located at 3100 Mounts Road, Alexandria, Ohio. A disc golf course is also available for use, with parking at 5475 Battee Rd, Alexandria. Trail Map.
Taft Reserve
The 425-acre Taft Reserve consists of mostly meadows and woodlands with 8 miles horseback riding, hiking and mountain biking trails . This Licking Park District reserve is located at 10250 Flint Ridge Road, Newark, Ohio. Trail Map
Riverview Reserve
110-acre Riverview Preserve, follows Licking River through woodland and wetland areas with river access for fishing and a canoe launch site with ample parking. This Licking Park District reserve is located at 375 Ohio Street, Newark, Ohio.
Newark City Parks and Recreation
The Newark City Parks and Recreation Department oversees and maintains more than 20 parks and facilities and 11 miles of bike trails, and has established partnerships with the Reese Foundation to oversee the Lou and Gib Reese Ice Arena and Licking County YMCA to operate Hollander Swimming Pool. From the beautiful grounds of the County Courthouse to the rustic charm of Horns Hill Park, our parks offer much to see and do - fishing, mountain biking, disc golf, skateboarding, hiking, walking, jogging, ice skating, swimming, bike riding, and picnicking, among other activities. The City of Heath Parks and Recreation Department maintains 10 parks and recreation facilities, including the Heath City Water Park, the Davis Shai House, and the city’s pedestrian trail system. The Village of Buckeye Lake has recently made improvements to its park and sidewalk infrastructure, aided by a Creating Health Communities grant. Utica VIllage Parks
Playgrounds and ball fields are available at Miller Park is located at 141 Crestview Drive, Utica OH . Additional athletic fields are located at South End Park on Blacksnake Rd. Utica Elementary School also has a playground area.
